My latest article is out! It has been published in the French magazine SIMPLY MODERNE- ISSUE #25


I am on page 78. It's an easy technique where I show you how to use two wonderful fabrics that you have been saving and didn't know how to incorporated them into a quilt. TIP: you will need an inexpensive wooden hoop and some paint.

 I am offering a *NEW* Workshop *Criss, Cloth, Paint and Cloth*

Come and play with artists" crayons (wax pastels), squares and hand embroidery to create an irregular cross-pattern quilt block.
We will learn how to use artists" crayons on cloth and how to choose different color combinations. Then we will fuse the squares in place and twist the block to create unmatching embroidery stitches.

Materials used: recycled magazine clippings, napkins and tissue papers.
Decorated with: Aurifil threads (28w and 12w LANA for the hand-embroidery) and seed beads for the birds wings.
 
The whole quilt top has been made with papers. It was my first time sewing the background  with the stitching so close together and the paper behave beautifully, just like fabric!
 
I made this mixed-media quilt on preparation for my Lecture and Workshop at Cumberland Valley Quilters Association this coming April 7th and April 8th, 2020.

 I gave one of my workshops, *Paper and Fabric Appliqué*, to these lovely ladies from the Uncommon Threads Guild here in Memphis TN. I enjoyed watching their faces light up when they discovered how to work with paper and  incorporate it into a quilt!
