Art-Cloth with *Recycled Newspaper*

Above are *details* from my latest work. An Art-Cloth study with *Paper*.

This is an Art-Cloth which has been painted, resisted, dyed and Infused with recycled newspapers, a technique I developed and called INC (Infused Newsprint Cloth).

The challenge for me was to obtain a soft, washable, pliable and easy to sew fabric. This is not an easy task, especially after the addition of several layers of dyes and paints plus the application of paper.
I am pleased with the results! This is a 32 inches by 32 inches piece of cotton. Now that I know it works I am already planning my next project.

*Paper and Fabric Collage*

Hoja

This is a paper and fabric mixed media art. I used This technique to appliqué the recycled paper.

It all started with hand-dyed and hand-printed fabrics. Purple, red and green color dyes has been used for the solid color cloth.

After I designed my own silk-screen, grey was used to imprint the white fabric with lettering. Then, magazine clippings were laminated, cut in the leaf shape and sewn in place by hand.

Close up.
I will offer this as a *NEW* workshop.
