This is a paper and fabric quilt that I'm sending to the AQS Quilt Show and Contest in Padukah, Kentucky which is going to take place this coming April 25-28, 2012. I was thrilled to find out I'm a semi-finalist!

Silk Scarf for Donation
Every year, a wonderful group of women I belong to organizes a charity event where each member donates what they can. Some donate cooking goods, others fun baskets, classes or different types of crafts. I've decided to paint this silk scarf. 100% of the proceeds go to various local organizations.

What to do with an ugly fabric
This is the result of an overdyed "ugly fabric"
It was originally this color:
I decided to manipulate the cloth, in this case fold it lengthwise and sew it with polyester black thread and then put in a red dye bath.
Afterwards, I hung the fabric and waited to decide on how to use it.
